Many people would like to share knowledge they have acquired. Sometimes this grows out of a desire to be useful/giving within one’s social group or local community. Sometimes people desire recognition within their professional field. Sometimes, there’s a desire to earn extra income.
“Share Your Smarts” School: exchanging workshop-based knowledge, leveraging social networks.
Knowledge Sharers:
- Schedule your knowledge-sharing webinar here so that potential learners can search for – and find – your learning opportunity (find out how here). We provide the online public setting for learning events.
- Notify your friends or colleagues so they can sign up to participate in your scheduled webinar.
- Engage with The Share Your Smarts School to identify places where we can “spread the word” about your learning opportunity (in addition to our established communication mechanisms).
- Then, deliver your webinar via our online learning platform. Learners learn while you gain recognition and some extra income.
Knowledge Learners:
- Join us! Come learn knowledge (often, presented in one hour!). Be a smart owl!
- Online webinars can be found via the search function of our website and/or via your social networks (via your friends who teach with us). Come be a smart owl!
The Share Your Smarts School provides two levels of learning:
| Informal online learning sessions – often one hour (or multiple one hour sessions) similar to a continuing education learning event you might find at a local community college. These happen online unless otherwise negotiated with The Owl School. | CEU-style education (often, online). When you have educational content that could meet formal standards similar to CEUs for ongoing training in professional industries, offering CEU-style education is a potential option (a potential stepping stone toward you becoming an academic educator at post-secondary institutions!). We are looking into becoming CEU accredited. |
